George Presley was about twenty-two and Eva Shear was about twenty when they married in about 1881 in New York. George's other and Eva's Father were siblings, making them first cousins.

The 1900 census revealed George was a stone mason and they owned their home free of mortgage. They were living in Ellisburg, Jefferson County, New York. They had been married nineteen years and had four children and four still living. George was born in June 1859 and he & his parents were born in New York. Eva was born in July 1862,she & her father were born in New York and her mother was born in Michigan. The 1910 census revealed they owned their home with a mortgage and were living on North Park Street in Adams, Jefferson County, New York. Their daughter Lottie Blackmer and her family were living with them. Household members: George W Presley (49), Eva G (47), Roy (16), Lottie C Blackmer (19), Edmond W Blackmer (25), and Ellen Blackmer (10/12).
