The 1850 census revealed Hiram was a farmer, they were living in Ellisburg, Jefferson Co, New York. Mary's brother George Shear was living with them. Household members: Hiram Presley (32), Mary (26), Mary J (5), Wm H (2), Lydia A (1) and George Shear (17).

The 1860 revealed Hiram was a Stone Mason. Household members: Harn Presley (42), Mary (36), Mary (16), William (12), Lydia (10), Hirum (8), Nathan (6), Lodema (4), Lucy (2) and George (10/12).

Civil War record revealed Hiram Presley enlisted as a Private on 25 February 1864 at the age of 44. He joined Company L, 10th Heavy Artillery Regiment New York on 1 Mar 1864. He transferred out of Company L, 10th Heavy Artillery Regiment New York on 19 Jul 1865. He transferred into Company G, 6th Heavy Artillery Regiment New York on 19 Jul 1865.

The 1870 census revealed they were living in Henderson, Jefferson Co, New York. Their real estate was valued at $1,500. Household members: Hiram Presley (50), Mary (46), William (23), Nathan (16), Lodama (15), Lucy (13) and George (11).

The 1880 census revealed Hiram was a farm laborer. Their granddaughter Mary Presley was living with them. Household members: Hiram S. Presley (61), Mary M. (56), George W. (20) and Mary (6).

The 1890 Veterans schedule revealed Hiram was a private in the Civil War for 2 years and 5 months from Feb 25, 1863 and July 1865.

The 1900 census revealed Hiram was born in Nov 1820 and Mary was born in Mar 1824. They had been married 58 years had 13 children 5 still living. Household members: Hiram S Presley (79) and Marry M (76).

The 1910 census revealed household members: Hiram S Presley (89) and Mary M (86).

Mr and Mrs George Presley and daughter, Mrs. Len Palmer of Adams, Mr and Mrs Morris Waite of East Rodman were here to attend the funeral of their father and grandfather H. Presley.

The Funeral of Hiram Presley, the oldest resident of this town, who died at the home of his son, William Presley, was very largely attended at the school house, Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 11 o'clock, Rev. G M Greetham of the ME church officiating. Mr Presley was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery by the side of his wife, who died three weeks ago.
