Auntie Ingrid was my favorite Aunt. She was my Mother's younger sister, who spent her life looking after their father Gustav Backman after the death of their mother,Edit Backman.

My Auntie was a wonderful, shy lady who was a very talented artist. She could draw with pencil crayons, pencil, ink as well as painting. Her speciality was animals, especially horses.

As she never married or had children, she loved to buy presents for her nieces and nephews (all 9 of us) and then when she became a Great-Aunt, she was so happy.

Every Christmas, on Christmas Eve, my Auntie would make the special cookies and things from her parents' homeland (Sweden & Finland). There was always a special feeling when coming there on Christmas Eve. And to me, the wonder of it all was that she cooked everything in a wood stove and nothing was every burned.

I miss her and her stories and paintings and smile!
