Funeral services for Mr. John William Dailey, 71, of Cookeville, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2003, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery with Bro. Clarence Jared officiating.
Mr. Dailey died Saturday, May 24 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Cookeville, a retired sheet metal operator at Bennett Industries, and was affiliated with Missionary Baptist Church.
Born February 10, 1932, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Ben Bilyeu and Lena Ellie (Neal) Dailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Gene Dailey and Paul Vanis Dailey.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Leonia (Daniels) Dailey of Cookeville; three brothers, Walter Dailey and wife, Nell, Bob Dailey, and Jerry Dailey and wife, Faye, all of Rickman; two sisters, Mary Smith and husband, Troy, of Rickman, and Janice Brown and husband, Billy Joe, of Hanceville, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
