James H. Barnes -- born about 1842, son of Larry S. Barnes and Obedience Matilda Batts, grandson of Jeremiah Batts and Elizabeth Williams. Private, Company F. Enlisted 18 May 1861 at Cedar Hill, Tennessee. Killed in the Battle of Franklin, Tennessee, 30 November 1864, age 22. Buried in the Confederate Cemetery at Franklin, Tennessee section 59, grave 115.
