Wednesday, June 15th, 2005 - GIRONDA, ROBERT R. - GIRONDA, ROBERT R. Robert R. Gironda of Peekskill, NY, former resident of New Rochelle, NY died of heart failure on June 14th, 2005 at Hudson Valley Hospital in Peekskill, NY. He was 71. Mr. Gironda was born August 5, 1933 in White Plains, NY. Mr. Gironda served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954 as a radio operator attaining the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 8 in New Rochelle, NY. On October 4, 1954 he married Jean Parks at St. Gabriel's Church in New Rochelle, NY. Mr. Gironda lived in Peekskill, NY for the past 16 years. Before that, he lived in New Rochelle, NY. Mr. Gironda will be remembered for his dedication to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Jean of 50 years, his daughter Joy Russo and her husband Steve, his son Daryl Gironda and his wife Cathy, his son Robert J. Gironda and his wife Linda and his nine grandchildren Stephen, Lauren, Matthew, Taylor, Brandon, Hailey, Christopher, Skyler and Cameron.
