Joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol in 1997. Trooper Green lost his life in the line of duty. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and a foster child. Funeral services in Lawton were attended by more than 2500 people, including hundreds of law enforcement officers. Green was remembered as a man of faith who was always ready to come to the aid of those in need. "Trooper Green was a consummate law enforcement professional and public servant who dedicated his life to helping others." Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry.

From US 183 in Tillman County to US 81 on US 70 in Jefferson County is now named the Trooper Nikky Green Memorial Highway.

Trooper Green was also a D.A.R.E. officer and served as the youth pastor of the Devol Baptist Church.
