Obituary: The Daily Herald, Biloxi, MS - 20 Mar 1970 - SGT. ALLEN KILLED IN VIETNAM
Sgt. Danny Ray Allen, 18, U. S. Army, son of Henry Ervin Allen of Lyman, and the late Mrs. Bertie Lee Wheat Allen, was killed in hostile action in Vietnam on March 16 at 4:45 p.m. according to a release from the Defense Department in Washington, D. C. Sergeant Allen, whose mother died April 2, 1969, was born July 2, 1951 in Biloxi. He was a Baptist. In addition to his father, he is survived by two brothers, Roger Dale Allen, U. S. Army; and Ernest Allen, Norwalk, Ohio; and five sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Barett and Mrs. Ruby Jackson, Norwalk. Ohio; Mrs. Evelyn Whitehead and Mrs. Donna Hight, Gulfport and Mrs. Peggy Cannette, Saucier. Funeral arrangements are in complete but the funeral will be held at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport and interment will be in Allen Cemetery, Long Beach, with military honors.
