William served in the North Carolina militia during 1771, as a soldier in Captain William Bueford's Company and his son, Kimbrough Tinsely OGILVIE, was in the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. Moved to Tennessee in the late 1790's and settled near what is today College Grove, built a log home and other buildings, some still stand today (Ogilvie Place.)
Children: James Harris, Smith, Kimbro Tinsley, Sr., John, Sarah (who marries Robert ALLISON), Williams III, Patty (who marries John MANIRE), Richard, Nancy.
