Comes from a well established Feuerstein/Feyerstein family in the village of Thal. Was a carpenter, farmer, laborer, and citizen. Would abandon his family farm, indenture himself and his older sons in exchange for passage in Pennsylvania, all done to save his eldest son from being pressed into military service.

He settled with his son, Nicholas, near Lancaster, PA, later York County where he acquires 300 acres. His first wife, Anna Catherina NUNNEMACHER, would die, and he would marry (2) Catherine Kuntz HACKEN. He would be naturalized in the year 1763.

Children by Anna Catherina: Anna Catherina, Johnann Nicholas II Johann Joseph, Eva Catherina, Rosina, Susanna Catherina, Johann Mathias, Christina Dorothea, Maria Dorothea, Johann Nicholas, Johann P., Maria Magdalena, Michael, Anna, Johann Theobald.

- Burial is thought to be in the Kirchburg (Lutheran) Cemetery, Berg, France. However, no Feuerstein stones are present in this very old cemetery, as well as Thal and Berg city cemeteries.
