MISHAWAKA - Daniel Melbourne "Danny" Reinoehl, 61, went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife on Thursday with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 17, 1951, in South Bend, he was the son of the late Russell and Beatrice (Douglas) Reinoehl. On October 17, 1970 in South Bend, Dan married Brenda Kyle Honeycutt. She preceded him in death July 4, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Ben (Cindy) Reinoehl of Osceola and David Reinoehl of Mishawaka; two daughters, Jenny Lackey of Ft. Worth, TX and Pam (Jeff) Dickerson of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren: Trenton, Tyler, and Gabi Reinoehl, Travis and Mackenzy Lackey, and Bren and Leigh Dickerson; two brothers, Gary of Mishawka and Tom (Donna) Reinoehl of Granger; three sisters, Becky (Dan) Sweazy, Annie (Jay) Martin and Kathy Reinoehl, all of Mishawaka; and Dan's four legged companion, Rosie, whom he cherished. Danny retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) after 33 years of service. He was also a veteran of the National Guard. Dan loved his Lord and was a faithful member of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, where he served as head usher and Trustee. Most of all he supported and loved his family, spending countless hours watching and supporting his children and grandchildren in many activities. His love for the outdoors, such as fishing and hunting, will not be forgotten and will be carried on by his family. Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Monday and noon - 1 pm Tuesday at the McGann Hay Funeral Homes, University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at the McGann Hay, Rev. Dr. Pat Somers, Pastor and Rev. Ann Dill, officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
