Benton — Ramona B. Cooper, 83, of Valier died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at the Franklin Hospital in Benton. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, officiated by the Rev. Frank Senter. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Ramona was born in Valier on Nov. 17, 1928, the daughter of Ramond Cutler and Pearl (Lewis) Cutler. She was married to Robert Cooper, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 1999. Mrs. Cooper was a retired presser for dry cleaners. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Valier. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Red Hat, and sang with the Jolly Jills. She is survived by her children, Lyla Bruce of Valier, and Lynn and Bob Preslar of Benton; grandchildren, Valerie Bruce, Jason Preslar, Tom and Beth Bruce, and Kris and Christina Preslar; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Wendell Cutler.
