Internment was held at Maple Hill Cemetery, where Mrs. Mary Beals was laid to rest with other members of her family, who have passed on before her.
She is survived by her husband, Lt. Job Scott Beals, late of the Grand Army of the Republic, and five of their children. Mr. Frank Beals; Mrs. Ora Jane Beals Griffith, of College Springs, Iowa; Mrs. Wyatt W. Beals Jones, of Salt Lake City, Utah; Miss Blanche Marie Beals; & Mrs. Walter J. Price of Loveland, Colorado.
Mary Beals was born to David "Dave" Beals in Richalnd, Iowa in 1846, and married to Lt. Job Scott Beals on 18th of June in 1863, in Greene County, Tennessee. Soon after, Job Beals returned to his unit stationed in Illinois.
After the war the couple moved to Kansas, where they resided for four years. In 1869 or 1870, they moved, with their children who had been born in Kansas, back to Iowa, establishing their home in Clarinda, and later College Springs.
Until recently, Mrs. Beals was active in church work, until illness prevented her from participating as she had in the passed. She has, for the past 12 years, been an invalid, confined to her chair.
The influence of her life will long be with us.

May the generations rise up and bless her name. And may those who come after forever be worthy of her memory, and her works, through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
My thanks to William and Mary Kelly, who submitted this obit. I have edited some of the details concerning her husband, Job Scott Beals and their children. Scot Lady
