Mrs. Rene (Esther) Cook, 52, resident of the Fort Benton area for many years and native of Dodson, Montana, died Monday morning February 10 in a Great Falls hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services were this Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Benton Funeral Home with Reverend Don Robinson of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Phil Schoonover, Lloyd Nelson, Robert Stevenson, Francis O'Hara, Marshall Fisher and Charles Conn.

Esther Flom was born at Dodson October 17, 1916, the daughter of Edward and Emma Flom. The family came to Chouteau County in 1937, living first on the Teton then at Fort Benton. She married Rene Cook in September of 1946 at Havre. The couple resided at their ranch home east of Fort Benton for two years, then moved into Fort Benton, where she had made her home until her death.

Besides her husband, Rene, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Christine Feltz, of Fort Benton, and Mrs. Mae Raber, of Minneapolis; two sons, Lee Doney of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Dennis Cook, of Fort Benton; her mother Mrs. Emma Flom of Great Falls; two brothers Arthur and Neubert Flom, both of Great Falls; and five grandchildren.
