Abe Sasser was born on December 1, 1927, in Laurel County, Kentucky, the son of the late Abe and Lucy Chadwell Sasser.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Lee Elizabeth Mize Sasser, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son: Abe Sasser and wife, Paulette, of Albuquerque, New Mexico,
one daughter: Valerie Cathers and husband, Doug, of London,
two step-children: Ronald Boggs of John's Creek, Georgia, and Carol Decker, of Louisville,
one sister: Aileen Peters of Indiana,
two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Dorthea Pentecostal Church and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Abe Sasser departed this life at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly on Monday, September 7, 2015, being 87 years, 9 months and 6 days of age.
Funeral services for Abe Sasser will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday at Bowling Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily.
The family will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home from 12 noon Saturday until the funeral hour of 2 PM.
