Medical technician with 2 Field Ambulance, based in Petawawa, Ontario. Aged 32, survived by his wife Kerry and three daughters and a son. He was born in Sudbury and raised in McKerrow ON, where his parents George and Leona Arnold reside. Also survived by three brothers and a sister and their families, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. Predeceased by grandparents George Arnold Sr., Mary Arnold, Aline (Nana) Arnold, and Aldena & Jeanne Lanthier.

He was one of four soldiers killed, and several injured, when a man travelling on a bicycle detonated his bomb near Canadian troops on foot patrol in the Panjwayi district, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. A number of civilians, including children, were also injured in the attack.

Cpl Arnold had served for 14 years during which he was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, as a member of DART (Disaster Assistance Response Team) in Sri Lanka and one previous tour in Afghanistan.

His awards and decorations include Canadian Forces Decoration (CD), Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal (CPSM), Special Service Medal - Humanitas Bar (SSM-H), General Campaign Star (GCS-ISAF) and North Atlantic Treaty Organization Stablization Force (NATO-SFOR), Sacrifice Medal (SM) (posthumous).

Repatriation ceremony at CFB Trenton held on Sept 23, 2006. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept 29, 2006 in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, CFB Petawawa.
