Vic Cook was the earthship house maker which incorporated many novel sustainable features. He lived in a 7000sq foot one called the Giant. I would be glad if someone could do this site justice.
Pendleton — Victor L. Cook, 67, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010.

He was born Dec. 12, 1942, in Anderson, and graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1960.

He went on to create "The Giant," a solar-powered, environmentally friendly home.

Surviving are his children, Victor Cook Jr., Heather (husband, Joshua) Lineberry, and Aimee Lee Cook; grandchildren, Ivy Tudor, Cody, Toby and Skylar Blythe and their mother, Pamela Blythe, Emily, Abigail and Allyson Lineberry, Kelly Walker; three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Isaac and Elijah; girlfriend of 10 years, Karen Brown; and best friend and president of Earthship Corporation, Sue Blakely.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alma Hunter Cook, and two sons, Tony and Toby Cook.

A memorial service will be held on Earth Day, April 22, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. at Falls Park in Pendleton, where the family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until service time.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Earthship Corporation at any First Merchants Bank, or to the family at any Ameriana Bank.

The family would like to thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes.
