Born in Greenwood, Melissa was the daughter of Leroy Maroney and Judy Goodman Rush. She was a homemaker and attended Laurel Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jade Fields Spencer of Greenwood and a son, Chaz Fields (Chanda Howard), of Greenwood; grandchildren, Chayla Owings, Caylee Owings, Kaydence Fields, Syan Spencer and Ava Sweatt; step-grandchildren, Justin Robinson, Nicole Robinson, Tori Dye and Malachi Conway; Richard's parents of Saluda; Melissa's father of Saluda; her mother and stepfather, Bernie Rush, of Greenwood; Melissa's grandmother, Alberta Goodman of Saluda; Richard's brothers, Cliff Fields of Abbeville and Tony Fields of Saluda and Melissa's brother, Tracy Maroney of Greenwood
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Laurel Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Stollger, Mr. Terry Ray and the Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Burial will be held in Oakbrook Memorial Park
