I'd had her since I was in 6th grade. We were together for about 13 years when she passed away.
She was a rental horse that my father purchased from a trail riding place in Aldie, Virginia. Both Canary & I took jumping lessons together for about 4 years. Then she "retired". She was getting up there in age & had some hoof problems, so it wasn't really a good idea to ride her anymore. So she basically lounged around all day, eating and walking around with her "big sister" Tally.
