Burwell is son of George and Elvira (Lee) Blanton. He married Phoebia Margaret Bridges in 1782. Children: John 1785-1847, James 178-1833, Jesse 1789-1875, Sarah, Nancy 1792-1870, Elizabeth Lee 1800-, Susanna -1883, George 1802-1835, Charles 1804-1866. Phoebia born 1766 and died 1836.
Burwell's second marriage was to Mary Wily. Date about 1834. They had one son: Burwell Wiley 1835-1864.
