First born of my first born, she was a Light among us, who bloomed into a young woman in the midst of great adversity. Our brave and courageous warrior princess lost her battle with Acute Mylogenous Leukemia and went home to God, to rest and to finally meet her great-grandfather, German Pinelli. She touched many hearts because her personality was greater than Life itself. She was musically gifted and very intelligent. She LOVED Life and it was this great desire that allowed her to live so long after the illness began to ravage her body. Always hopeful that a cure was going to send her home to her family. That is why she was cremated: to grant her only wish during the ordeal: to go home. In death as in life, she was surrounded by many. In her Pediatric ICU room at Miami Holtz, about 20 of us crammed inside, while a dozen others waited outside. Weeks later, we gathered to celebrate her life in a beautiful outdoor setting (Topeegee Yunge National Park)because it was what she loved most. The outdoors and the ocean. She would hug each tree and even give them names of their own. There under the majestic canopy of trees, near a lake, we all wore a piece of clothing of her favorite color (purple)and remembered our experiences with her. We wrote messages and tied them to balloons, and later released them at sunset. We wanted the service to be spiritual in nature, according to how she perceived the Divine. She leaves behind many devastated individuals, first, her poor mother; her younger brother and sister who did not see her body again once she took a turn for the worse, the rest of her family, and of course classmates and friends. News of her demise was #3 subject matter on "Twitter". We were extremely moved to have the marvelous medical personnel of both Joe DiMaggio's Childrens' Hospital and of Holtz Childrens' Hospital who tried their very best to save her life, and who grew to love her, cry along with us and join us in her "home-going" celebration. We wish to thank the "Make-a-Wish" for the shopping trip they took her on in a white stretch Lincoln limousine. She will always live in our hearts and memory and in the hearts and memory of all those fortunate enough to have crossed her path. I love you, my darling girl. And, in all of the years I have been creating memorials for other children, I never dreamed I would be making one for you. But God is kind and compassionate, and is allowing me to do this. Until we meet again...

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to Me".
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
