Sacred to the memory of Zechariah Godbold a native of Marion District, S.C. who departed this life July 13th, 1832, aged 69 years, 3 months and 10 days..... At an early age he joined the ranks of Genl Marion in that eventful struggle which was over Independence..... This stone is erected by his widow and son in testimony of their esteem for a kind husband, indulgent Father and generous friend.....Rest in Peace
