Amanda Marie Gomez was born May 26th 1977 in Abilene Texas for John and Lois Hanson Gomez (Mandy was adopted). Amanda graduated from Clinton High School in 1995 and was attending the American Institue of Business in Des Moines Iowa. And was employed in the financial aide office with American Institute of Business.
She was baptized in the Baptist Church. And on Aug. 15, 1998 she married James S. Cook in Des Moines Iowa.
Amanda passed on Wednesday April 14, 1999 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Her funeral was held on Saturday April 17 1999 at 4pm, at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton Iowa.
The Rev. Scott Porter of Sterling Illinois officiated the services. Interment was at the Springdale Cemetary in Clinton Iowa. Pallbearers were Jason Maschka, Shane Hanson, Ryan Hanson, David Arocha, John Cook, Tim Garza and Dustin Hanson.
Survivors include her husband James Cook of Des Moines, her parents John and Lois of Clinton Iowa. A brother David Arocha of San Angelo Texas, three sisters, Michelle Robledo, Liza Reiso and Loretta Torres all of San Angelo Texas. Her grandmother LaVonne Hanson of Mason City Iowa, and aunts, uncles, neices and nephews.

Mandy was a beautiful young lady, who went home to be with the Lord at the age of 22. We are very thankful to have had her in our lives for those 22 years. She had delt with that awful disease of Lupus for 2 years of her 22, when the Lord called her
