Betty Hammond,66, of Ephrata passed away on Monday,July 5, at Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata following an extended illness.
She was born on Nov.19,1926 in Holton, Kan. to Frances and Gladys Magers.
Prior to coming to Ephrata she was a long-time resident of Seattle and worked for the Harborview Medical Center for many years.
Mrs. Hammond is survived by a son, Gregory Word and a daughther, Lucinda Simpson, both of Seattle; her mother, Gladys Magers of Ephrata; eight grandchildren, an aunt and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hammond; her father, Francis Magers; a daughter, Dayle Thorton; and a brother, Dale Magers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 9, at 11a.m. at the Nicoles Funeral Home in Ephrata.
