Funeral services for Joshua Glenn Smith, of Brookhaven, are 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park in Brookhaven.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 28, died Oct. 26, 2010, in Tyler, Texas. He was born in Mississippi on Aug. 20, 1982, to Jerry Glenn Smith and Cindy Townsend Smith.

He was a graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center. He was employed with Nabors Drilling. He was a member of Grace Independent Baptist Church. He was assistant chief of the Loyd Volunteer Fire Dept and an active volunteer of the American Red Cross.

Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Gerald Townsend; his grandparents, Claude Smith and Gladys Smith; and his stepfather, Bob Lohr, all of Brookhaven.

Survivors are his wife, Bridget S. Smith; his son, Ethan L. Johnson; his daughter, Emmalyn C. Smith; his parents, Jerry Smith and stepmother, Sandy, and Cindy Smith and stepfather, Mervin, all of Brookhaven; his sister, Lacey Case, of Brookhaven; his stepbrother, David Adams, of Brookhaven; his stepsisters, Tami Coleman, Sissy Melton and Leanne Roberts, all of Brookhaven; his grandmother, Jean Townsend Chandler; his stepgrandmother, Edna Buitt; his aunt, Dona Fauver, and his uncle, Terry Fauver.
