John Bergant
John Bergant, 90, of Madisonville, KY, died at 12:50am Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at Hillcreed Manor Nursing Home of Louisville, KY.
He was born Oct 2, 1910 at West Mineral, the son of Matthew and Mary Ann Dolence Bergant.
Mr. Bergant was a retired coal miner for the Pittsburgh and Midway Coal Co. Having never missed a single day in 45 years of service.
He was a member of the Lincoln Trail retriever Club, Ducks Unlimited, and the Down & dirty Dog Trainers.
Survivors include two sons, Johnnie W. Bergant and James M. Bergant, both of Louisville; five granddaughter and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years. Esther Margaret Thompson Bergant on Aug 14, 1990; three brother and four sisters
Graveside services will be held at 11am Monday at Star Cemetery at West Mineral, with Delbert Chance officiating. Friends may call form 5 to 8pm Sunday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Weir. Which is in charge of the local arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the America Cancer Society. Memorials may be left at or sent to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 104 West Main Weir, KS. 66781
