Tipton Tribune: 20 May 1943

C.E. Harvey age 70, 224 Poplar Street, died at his home at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday evening following a three year illness. Death was attributed to heart trouble and he had been bedfast for 15 weeks. The body was removed to the Ogle and Little Home for funeral and was returned to the late home this afternoon were friends are invited to call.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Pilgrim Holiness Church with Rev. Fred Sharp assisted by the pastor Rev. Floyd Dunn in charge. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Harvey was a charter member of the Holiness Church and had been active in church affairs for 49 years. Only one charter member now survivies Mrs. Lon Richardson residing at the Simmons Nursing Home on North Independence Street. The deceased worked many years for the Indiana Union Traction Company and also for the Nickle Plate Railroad.

He was born in Tipton County Aug 18, 1872 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Harvey. Three brothers and sisters are deceased. On June 2, 1894 he married Amanda Booher who survives, five children were born, four of them deceased. Surviving is Elmer L Harvey, 125 Poplar, a grandson and several neices and nephews.
