T. Ward Newton was the son of James Wilson 'Jim' Newton and Mary Alice LITTLE Newton. He married Minnie May Browning July 27 1925 in Charleston, Tallahatchie, Ms. They had one son, Jimmy Ward.

Uncle Ward was a true Christian man. He loved his God and his Church. I never knew him to commit a big sin. He also loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was the 'old fashion' gentleman in every sense of the word. He lived to be 95 years old and was proud of the certificates he got at the family reunions for being the oldest man there.
