Alice Eugenia was the daughter of James Wilson (Jim) Newton and Mary Alice LITTLE Newton. She married Earl Themes Stevens Jan 28, 1928 in Memphis, Shelby, Tn. They had one daughter, Norma Jean.

Aug 3, 1935 Eugenia married Doss A. Shook, Jr. in Sumner, Tallahatchie, Ms. They owned a cafe in Webb, Tallahatchie, Ms.

Aunt Eugenia was a great lady. She was very pretty with her blond hair and had the most beautiful blue eyes. She laughed a lot and never met a stranger. She treated me like I was a younger sister and I loved her so very much. It was heart-breaking when we lost her. It left a large hole in the Newton Family.
