She was a grocery store clerk.
Mrs. Newton is survived by her husband, Roy Leon "Bud" Newton, of Sumner; daughters Annette Neill, of Sumner, and Constance Clark Matthews, of Brazil, Miss.; brothers Louie Wesley Childress, of Jackson; 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Brazil Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sumner.
