This US Marine from Ottawa, Illinois, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force in Camp Lejune, North Carolina, was killed as a result of hostile action, just a week before his tour of duty was to end. He was the son of Shelia and James McDonald and Wayne Beatty. He is alwo survived by a sister Heather Hammerich and two younger brothers, Jordan and Carter McDonald. He had been on the football team at Streator High School from which he was graduated. He was buried Friday, February 4, 2005 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
