Marine LCpl Argentine was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. He died while supporting combat operations. James was always the sweet, caring kid on the block who was very close to his parents. While attending St. Anthony High School in South Huntington, New York, he was involved in a variety of school activities โ€“ from Ultimate Frisbee to creative writing. But the one he really enjoyed was working with the stage crew; assembling lights and sets for school performances. It's one of those demanding jobs where you are always behind the scenes ensuring that others lighting and staging are perfect with no credit to yourself โ€“ that was his personality, quiet and gentle. James graduated in 2005 and attended SUNY Oneonta for a year. He joined the Marines in October 2006 and reported to Hawaii in January 2007. James was proud to protect and serve this country.
