Captain Matthew J. August, US Army was from North Kingston, Rhode Island. Matthew was a 1993 graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School and a 1997 graduate of the US Military Academy West Point NY. Married June 6, 1998 (Maureen). Matt was an avid outdoorsman and great trout fisherman. Joined the US Army in May 1997 and was a member of company B, 1st Engineer Battalion,1st Brigade Combat team,1st Infantry Division Fort Riley Kansas. Killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Khalidiyah, Iraq by an improvised explosive devise.
