Dear Miss Kitty,

You came to us out of the blue... a young and healthy little girl who had strayed from her home. You chose my daughter's house and covered front porch as your new residence. Of course we fed you, and made sure that your water bowl was filled. Then we created a "Kitty Condo" for your own cozy spot, lined with Yager's former fuzzy blanket.

Your veterinarian appointment revealed that you were already spayed. So, after receiving inoculations - it was back to Lisa's house.

We listed you at Pet Finders, hoping your family would look for you or another family would take an interest in adopting a pretty tiger-striped tabby with a bit of "cattitude."

You were a sweetie, but also a feisty little thing. Mr. Black and Mango learned not to enter your front yard and porch territory, as well as Scarlett, who lives next door.

We had only three or so short years with you, and your age was estimated to be between four & five. Saturday, when you were not at your usual spots, and I went looking for you. Sunday you were home, with your food untouched and it was obvious, you were ill. Monday, Lisa called your doctor and you were seen by her on Tuesday. Upon her examination she found a large mass in your abdomen. Next step was ultra-sound - then x-ray. Your condition and blockage was caused by a congenital defect, and there was no remedy.

With the doctor's help, you peacefully left us, as Lisa & I lovingly held you. Your final gift, was softly purring good-bye.

Those last few days all of the "feisty" was gone, with you only wanting petting and comfort. We all took turns to give you lots of love.

Lisa's front porch will be a lonely place, as we put away your bowls and your little house.

Our family will all remember you, our pretty little Miss Kitty.

"For all the joy you've given us,
For the glory days gone by,
Our best and final gift, sweet girl,
Was to give you wings to fly."

"We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
Even longer,' Pooh answered."
