Fred BAKER Jr., 60, Rt. 1, Logansport, died at 10:20 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Logansport.
He was born in Cass County on Jan. 12, 1923 to John and Lulu KEESEY BAKER. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, near Metea; the Logansport VFW post and was a trustee for the Logansport American Legion post. He had been a prisoner of war while serving with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He also was a member of the Forty and Eight Club of the American Legion; the Logansport Elks and Moose lodges, and the Cass County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith Ann MOSS, Sunrise, Fla., and Mary Ann WELLS, Indianapolis; three sons, Capt. Stephen Lee BAKER, Fayetteville, N.C.; Robert Fred BAKER, Rt. 1, Logansport; his father and step-mother, Fred and Gladys BAKER, Rt. 1, Logansport; two
brothers, Russell A. and William Keesey BAKER, both of Rt. 1, Logansport; and six grandchildren. A granddaughter and his mother preceded in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home
with Pastor David W. ROSS officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, Lucerne, where
there will be full military rites. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
