Col. Nicholas Grover was the second of three children born to Benjamin Grover and Nancy Dorsey Grover.
He fought in the War of 1812.
He married Eliza (unknown last name), about 17 years younger than him, and he became a saddler.
They lived in Logansport from before 1830 to his death in 1875.
Nicolas D Grover was the second elected mayor of Logansport. He was one of the officers in General Tipton's army that came up and escorted the Indian tribes out west. Then later he came back with his family and was among some of the first to settle in Logansport

His second wife was Eliza Dean, whom he married 23 Aug 1832, in Darke Co.,OH.,she was last enumerated in the 1870 census- with Nicholas- as running a rooming house. From OH marriages 1803-1900 on Ancestry.com.
