Eugene "Mutt" L. Cultice, 89, Marion, went to be with the Lord in his home at 1:25 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016. He was born in Marion to the late Raymond and Ethel (Shanks) Cultice. On November 13, 1965, Mutt married his sweetheart, Betty B. Nelson, and she survives.

Mutt was a U.S. Army veteran and served overseas during the Korean War. He had achieved the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service, he worked at Gen Corp as a Quality Control Inspector and retired in 1989 after more than 35 years of service. He had previously worked at an airplane factory in Marion. Mutt was a member of the American Legion, Elks 195, and Grant County Bowling Hall of Fame.

At one time, Mutt was the top bowler in Marion and had achieved bowling's ultimate perfect score of 300. He loved to golf and watch the PGA tournaments. One of his greatest golf memories was when he sunk a "hole in one" at Hart Golf Course. In the home, Mutt and Betty prepared many meals for their family and friends, and they would often listen to the hymns of Elvis Presley while working around the house together.

All who knew Mutt could say with certainty that he was caring, loving, and a devoted husband. He will be missed dearly, and the family appreciates the many prayers for them during this time. Special thanks is extended to Progressive Cancer Care, MGH Oncology, and Family Life Care for their loving care and thoughtfulness. Above all, the family thanks their Lord and Savior for His blessings and extra measure of grace and strength.

Survivors include his loving wife, Betty; sister-in-law, Madaline Fansler; special friend, Steve McAtee; niece and nephew, Clara Lou (Max) Martin and James Byington, and several other nieces, nephews, and friends; and his beloved cats, Sasha and Angel.

In addition to his parents, Mutt was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Grant Memorial Park with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

er Services of Grant County and to Marion-Grant County Humane Society.
