HARRELL , CLARA RUTH - age 84, of Knoxville, born May 26, 1915 in Fall Branch, TN, went to Heaven on Saturday morning, October 9, 1999. She was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and a resident of Broadway Towers. Preceded in death by husband, Charles Dock Harrell , Sr.; parents, Toni Ellen and Silas Ratliff; sisters, Mary Foust and Rheba Starnes, all of Kingsport, TN. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Howard Drinnen of Knoxville, Linda and Kendall Ethridge of Waco, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Jerry Harrell of Oceanside, CA, David and Carole of Knoxville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Virginia Boruff, Lena Ruth Langston, and Evelyn Johnson. Special thanks to Dr. William D. Black, Teena and staff for their loving care and kindness during her long illness. Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday, Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel, Rev. Tony Earl officiating and Rev. Alan Smith officiating. Interment in Bookwalter Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers: the Ruth class at Oakwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Organ Speaker Fund at Oakwood Baptist Church, 111 E. Columbia Ave, Knoxville, TN 37917. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
