Ivan G. Smith, age 93, of rural Albion passed away Thursday at 2:40 a.m. at the Rest Haven Manor, Albion.
He was born April 16, 1915 in Albion. His parents were Logan and Ethel (McHenry) Smith. He married Bernadine (Byford) on March 10, 1946.
He was an active member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church at Samsville for many years. Farming was both his occupation and enjoyment.
He is survived by a nephew: Kevin (Kathy) Smith of Albion, a niece: Mary (Pete) Cerda of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, a sister: Irene Daniels of Cantrell, Illinois , a sister-in-law Margaret Smith of Albion, 2 great nephews and 5 great nieces, and 3 great-great nephews, and 3 great-great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Elmer Smith.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 11, at 10 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church or Alzheimers Association.
