Diane Mildred Johnson Evjen
CLINTON - Diane Mildred Johnson Evjen passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004, at St. Patrick Hospital following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Diane was born in Libby on April 23, 1947, to Edward and Carroll (Friske) Johnson.

On Sept. 4, 1970, she married Pete Evjen in Missoula. Diane and Pete lived in Missoula until they moved to Clinton in 1997. Pete and Diane had one son, Gus.

Diane had many joys in her life. Most joyous were her twin granddaughters, Hope and Cherrokee, for whom she loved to baby-sit. She especially enjoyed shopping with the girls and her daughter-in-law Fayth.

Diane enjoyed many years of watching Pete and Gus play cowboy polo with the Missoula County Sheriff's Posse and enjoyed working in the cook shack for the Missoula cowboy polo tournaments.

Diane was preceded in death by her mother Carroll Johnson and grandparents William and Ester Friske and Edward Sr. and Agnes Johnson.

Diane is survived by Pete, her husband of 33 years; son and daughter-in-law Gus and Fayth Evjen and granddaughters Hope and Cherrokee, all of Clinton; and her father Ed Johnson of Missoula. She is also survived by her aunts Mary "Tootie" Ernesti and Betty Bourasaw and cousin Lynette Ernesti, all of Washington, and other relatives.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 21, at Trinity Baptist Church, 3020 South Ave. W., in Missoula, with Pastor Rex Sands officiating. A gathering will follow the services in the church's fellowship hall.
