During her 43-year career as a registered nurse, she earned the respect of many doctors, hospital staff and other nurses, and her dedication to and love for the profession of nursing touched thousands of lives. She was repeatedly recognized officially for setting the standard for patient care among entire hospital staffs.
Sandy was a fine sportswoman during her student years. She loved baseball and football and spent her free time with her beloved family watching her favorite movies, doing needlework, quilting, fishing, dancing and enjoying music of all types.
At the time of her passing, she was survived by her two sons, Jason Luebbert of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Shane Luebbert of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Cheryl Davis (James) of Lawson and Tamara Bartocci (John) of Olathe; a brother, Geoffrey Decker, and his partner, Charles, of Chicago; 3 nephews, 1 niece and 2 great-nephews.
Sandy was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ (Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).
Graveside services were on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at 10 AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Sandy's cremains were interred beside those of her mother in her mother's grave.
