James Ballew Davis, II, 75, of Lawson, died after long illness on April 17, 2012. Son of James and Lucille Marie (O'Higgins) Davis and lifelong area resident, he owned Herb Battery & Electric and The Old General Spring Antique Mall, worked for Wolff Brothers and later for Halco, Varta Batteries, and Danielle Batteries. He and his wife owned a 40-acre farm and restored a 100-year-old farmhouse. He attended Shawnee Mission (North) and Lee's Summit High Schools and served in the U.S. Army. He was survived by his wife, Cheryl (Decker) Davis of the home, a son, James B. Davis III of Marshall, a sister, Susan (Davis) McDaniel and her husband Michael of Florida. Cremation and private services were held.
