Born the second child to Benneville Darius Klopp and Meldarina Katherina Katterman Klopp in Mt. Aetna, Berks County, PA, in 1867, Dr. John Adam Klopp was the oldest to live beyond infancy out of 10. He graduated from the Northwest Missouri Medical College in St. Joseph, Missouri, and was licensed as a physician by the Missouri Board of Health on 26 February 1892, #5025. He married Eva Lena Russell on 18 October 1892 in Nodaway Twp., Holt Co., MO. They were divorced and he married twice again, first to Mary Elizabeth Miles Albertson Frazier and second to Jennie B. Lewis Mathews, the latter of whom he preceded in death. He was the father of Russell Klopp, Beulah Eva Klopp Dege, Norman Francis Klopp, Sr., and Mildred B. Klopp Sands. He was the brother of Samuel P. Klopp, Minerva Mary Klopp Boeshore, Almeda Liza Klopp Winter, Albert Clayton Klopp, Sylvester Benneville Klopp, Kathryn Elnora Klopp, Valentine Isaac Klopp, William Josiah Klopp, and Sylvanus Isaiah Andrew Klopp.

Dr. Klopp is a direct descendant of Martinus Walborn, Sr., his third great grandfather and a veteran of the American Revolution.

Dr. J. A. Klopp , son of Benneville and Catherine Klopp, was born in Mt. Aetna, Pa. and passed away at his home in Forest City, Mo. April 28, 1937, at the age of 70 yrs., 1 mo. and 17 days. He was married to Miss Eva Russell of Oregon, Mo. in 1892. Four children were born to them, one of whom preceded her in death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jenny Klopp, three children, Norman Klopp of Sharon, Pa., Mrs. Beulah Dege, Kansas City, Ks., Mildred Sands, Albuquerque, N.M., three brothers and two sisters of Pennsylvania, and two brothers of California. Dr. Klopp gave 46 yrs. of service to young and old. No matter how cold or stormy the day or night, he was always ready to relieve the suffering, whether rich or poor. The funeral service was held at the Forest City Baptist Church, Saturday, May 1 at 2:30 o'clock and was conducted by Albert Martin. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery at Oregon.
