John Adam Dundor was a lifelong farmer in Bern Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. According to History of Berks County, Pennsylvania, by Morton L. Montgomery, he was a substantial and influential citizen of his day, was director of the poor when the (then) present almshouse was erected, and was well known and universally respected.

He was the son of Johannes Dundor and Catherine Geiss Dundor. He had eight brothers and sisters.

His first wife was Elisabetha Miesse Dundor by whom he had nine children, one of whom was Susanna Dundore Klopp. His second wife was Elisabeth Ernst Dundor by whom he had an additional three children, one of whom was William E. Dundor of Plainfield, Illinois, who died a member of an Illinois regiment in the Civil War.Johan Adam "Adam) Dundor was the son of Johannes Adam "John) and Catherine (Geiss) Dundor or Dundore. On March 28,m 1801, he married Elizabetha "Elizabeth" Miesse.
