JOHN D. BELLMYER
---Funeral services for John Douglas Bellmyer, 75, of La Plata, were held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon (Oct. 5, 1985) in the Pollock Funeral Chapel, La Plata. The Rev. Charles Hall, pastor of the La Plata Baptist Church, conducted the services. Music was provided by Rosina Berry, organist, and Trudy Pollock, soloist. Selections were, "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art." Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery with military rites at the graveside.
---Mr. Bellmyer died at 9:20 Thursday morning (Oct. 3, 1985) in Grim-Smith Hospital.
---Born on Dec. 28, 1909 at LaCrosse in Macon County, he was the son of Daniel Webster and Nancy Elizabeth Gunnels Bellmyer. He was never married.
---Surviving are several nieces and nephews and other relatives including, John Yates of Anchorage, Alaska.
---He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
---Mr. Bellmyer spent his entire life in the Cardy community west of La Plata where he was engaged in farming.
---During World War II, Mr. Bellmyer served with the United States Armed Forces in Germany.
---He was a member of Reynolds-Martin American Legion Post No. 282.
---Bearers were: Jack Bellmyer, John Bellmyer, Walter Dean Bellmyer, Randy Lene, Tom Lene and Jack Perry.
