DICK CARDER
---Richard Jennings "Dick" Carder, 72, of LaPlata, died at 7:45 this morning (August 31, 1979) in a Kirksville hospital where he had been a patient following and apparent heart attack, Thursday. He had been in failing health two years.
---The son of Richard Homer and Evaline Greaves Carder, he was born November 19, 1906 near Rutledge. On February 3, 1934 in Memphis, he married Deloma Tucker who survives. Also surviving are three sisters, Lorena Sayers of Edina, Gertrude Sayers of Wayland and Eva Lewis of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews.
---Mrs. Carder was employed with the Service Pipeline Company, Missouri Division for 37 years, before his retirement on Oct. 1, 1966. Before moving to LaPlata in 1955, he had been a resident of Perry.
---During World War II, Mr. Carder served with the United States Army in the Quarter Master Corps in the European theater.
---He was a member of La Plata Lodge No. 237, A.F. and A.M. and was past master of the Masonic Lodge at Wyaconda; a member of Moolah Temple Shrine in St. Louis; Scottish Rite Temple 32nd Degree Mason and York Rite Bodies. Mr. Carder was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, LaPlata Chapter No. 52.
---He was also a member of the LaPlata Community Presbyterian Church where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon (September 1, 1979) at two o'clock. The Rev. Raymond Schondelmeyer will conduct the services. Burial will be in the LaPlata cemetery.
---The body is at the Pollock Funeral Home in LaPlata where Masonic services will be held Saturday evening at 7 o'clock.
---Bearers will be: John Elsea, Holland Clem, Leland Easley, Gail Albright, Luther Adair and Hollis Saffell.
