George Washington Baity was born July 29, 1844 in Missouri to Enoch Baity and Nancy Shore. He married Margaret Sally Saunders on March 1, 1866 in LaPlata, Macon, Missouri and this union produced 7 children. George serviced in the Union Army during the Civil War for Company F Unit 4Mo S.M. Cav. and was a Sergeant and wounded in the thigh and was discharged after serving only 3 months. He died July 12, 1891 in LaPlata, Macon, Missouri and is in LaPlata Cemetery.
