JOHN J. AUSMUS
---John J. Ausmus, one of the old and respected citizens of La Plata, and a member of the firm of Curtis and Ausmus, died at his home in this city, Sunday, May 19, 1907, at 2:15 a.m., aged sixty-six years and nineteen days.
---Deceased had been a resident of La Plata for many years, and he was always recognized by all as a good man. Scarcely a blur stained his manhood. Purity of life, rectitude of conduct, rigid integrity and instituted devotion to right adorned his career. Verily, he left behind him a good name.
---A wife and three children, Mrs. Ed Fulton of Chicago, Miss Effie and Earl of La Plata, and many other relatives and friends are left to mourn their loss.
---The funeral service was held at the Presbyterian Church Monday at 4 p.m., conducted by Rev. J.W. Fulkrod and W.R. Enyeart. The Odd Fellows and G.A.R. lodges attended the funeral in body, and as a matter of respect to deceased, all business houses closed during the funeral services.
