DR. C. H. BUCKLEY
---Monday morning, November 8, this community was shocked and grieved by the death of one of its best loved citizens and physician for over forty years, Dr. C.H. Buckley.
---Although he had been in ill health for several years, he continued to minister to the large number of patients who so greatly depended upon him until the final days of his life.
---Dr. Clarence, as he was affectionately known, was born in Adair County, Missouri January 11, 1883. Following in the footsteps of his father, the late Dr. J.F. Buckley, he secured his medical degree from the Iowa State Medical College, then locating at Keoku, in 1907. He came to La Plata and was associated with his father in the practice of medicine and surgery until the death of the latter.
---He was married in 1910 to Bonnie B. Biggs who was his loyal companion and helpmate for nearly half a century.
---Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Mrs. William Banta and a niece, Mr. Nan Burch.
---He is survived by his wife, one sister, Blanche (Mrs. Guy Valelly) and Mr. Valelly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a nephew, C.F. Hopson of Denver.
---Dr. Buckley was a member of the American Legion, having served in the United States Army during the First World War.
---Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Fred L. Hudson. Burial was in the La Plata cemetery.
