Connecticut Governor. A native of Bridgeport, he served as Governor of Connecticut from 1941 to 1943. A Democrat, Hurley also served as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Connecticut in 1940 and 1944, and as a Member of the Democratic National Committee from Connecticut in 1947. During World War I, he served in the United States Army.
